This lovely deer scene shellscape was submitted by Chris B. Chris believes he found the shell in 2000 at an arts and crafts show in Northern Wisconsin. Note the signature Jim Harpole trinity of trees in the background. This shellscape appears to be in excellent condition and we're thrilled it's found such an enthusiastic owner. Thanks for sharing your shellscape, Chris! And a very happy new year to all!

We are delighted to share photos of a rare Jim Harpole coffee painting! While Jim painted tens of thousands of Shellscapes, he produced around fifty paintings in coffee. The thought to paint using coffee occurred to him when he once mistakenly dipped his paintbrush in his coffee mug rather than in an adjacent water jar. This nearly forty year old painting has been beautifully preserved by its owner, Rebecca of Crandon, Wisconsin. A very heartfelt thanks to her for sharing a distinct dimension to Jim Harpole's singularly exceptional body of work. Shell #197 Painted in 1983
Shell #67 painted by Jean Harpole in 1983. Thanks to Evelyn for sharing your beautiful Shellscape with us!
To commemorate the Bicentennial in 1976, Jim Harpole painted a number of 'Spirit of 1776' shellscapes. This particular shell was done before Jim began numbering his work. Ruffled Grouse
